Welcome to Fairway Infant School

On behalf of all the teaching and support staff, I would like to welcome you to our school website. It is designed to give you a little ‘taster’ of our school and it contains a lot of useful information for parents/carers.

Fairway Infant School is situated in the village of Copthorne, close to East Grinstead in West Sussex. We are a two-form entry school with classes ranging from Reception to Year 2. We strive to ensure that our children are happy and enjoy coming into school each day. We aim to provide an exciting and stimulating environment where children are motivated to learn. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum with a range of activities and opportunities to support the development of curiosity and independence.

If you are a prospective parent looking for a school place for your child then please do come and have a look around and meet the staff and children. We warmly welcome visits to the school and appointments can be made by contacting the school office.

Mrs Bridget Davison, Headteacher

   *****   WANTED – NEW GOVERNORS   *****

We are currently looking for new co-opted governors to join our friendly governing body.
Being a governor is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills in a different setting and contribute to your local community by ensuring the structure is in place for every child to begin their schooling with an outstanding education.
Fairway governors come from a range of different backgrounds, skills and experience but all share a common interest of wanting the best possible education for the children at Fairway.
We would be delighted to hear from anyone who:
·         Is interested in children’s education and the performance of the school
·         Is community spirited and would like to represent the community
·         Has spare time and the energy for the role
·         Can work well as part of a team
·         Has an enquiring mind and the confidence to ask questions and debate issues that affect the school
·         Can consider matters objectively and make informed judgements

How to apply
If you are interested or know of somebody else who would be then please contact the school office for a skills audit and short application form which will need to be completed.  Telephone: 01342 713691.
If you would like to discuss any aspects of the role before submitting an application, please leave your contact details with the school office and a governor can contact you to discuss or email governors@fairway.w-sussex.sch.uk
